Philanthropy

  • Current Philanthropy Initiatives

Our current goal as a chapter with our philanthropy involvement on campus is to set an example of what we believe the Greek community should be doing in order to increase participation in service and aide. For example, we have consistently worked with a local homeless shelter called the Shalom House to serve the less fortunate for two to three hours a day as often as three times a week. A new addition to local community aide is our participation in flood relief in the Martinsville area. We plan on building a strong relationship with the church that organizes this service over the next few years. Besides these two main services we are providing our commitment to other Greek related philanthropic opportunities presented by other sororities and fraternities remains consistent.

In addition, the planning for our annual Derby Days events, which will be taking place March 26 through March 30, is well under way. Our goal this year is to raise anywhere from fifteen to twenty thousand dollars for Childrens Miracle Network. Donations can be made towards this cause by contacting any of our officers on the officer page.
